All new in 2013!

Another year's come and gone!  I counted all my blessings and found I have so many!  Two healthy, beautiful babies; a wonderful, supportive, loving husband; a gorgeous home; fluffy dog; supportive family & friends, and so many new friends!  Not to mention my wonderful fans and my little jewelry business that is thriving!

So here's to the new year and hopefully I will remember to update my blog every once in a while!  In the meantime, feel free to look over all the new sparklies I have created and am offering!

Love You to the Moon & Back • A hand stamped necklace featuring the loving quote from the book "Guess How Much I Love You!"  Paired with a Swarovski Crystal AB Moon charm.

Evening Light • Gorgeous, faceted dusky periwinkle quartz!  Wire wrapped in  sterling silver with a twisted bail on a shimmering, sterling chain.  It's so reminiscent of the purple-blue of early twilight.

Initial Necklace • One, custom, hand stamped initial on a tiny sterling silver tag!  Great for layering or wearing alone. 

Vitrail in Filigree • Multi-faceted Swarovski teardrop crystals in Vitrail.  They flash glimpses of green, yellow, blue and pink!  Wrapped in antiqued, silver plated Victorian filigree and attached to a white Swarovski pearl and hung on antiqued, silver plated filigree earring posts.

Little Heart • A tiny, matte, gold plated heart is the focal of this little dainty.  All other components are sterling silver.  The heart can be hand stamped with an initial of your choice for a small additional fee.

Oval Filigree & Pearls • Romantic, gold plated, oval filigrees are decorated with a single freshwater pearl.  All other components are 14K gold filled.  I also have smaller versions available. :) 

Jade Swirls • Bright, sky blue, dyed Aqua Jade decorated with silver, non-tarnish, artistic wire in hand crafted swirls!  Hangs on sterling silver french hooks. 

Spring Apples • Lovely, apple green, faceted Chrysoprase on Rose Gold plated findings. OOAK!

Breast Cancer Hanging Charms • Show your support with these awesome Breast Cancer Awareness charms.  Sparkly pink ribbons hang off a variety of pink, silver, white, or clear beads attached to a silver plated lobster claw.  Attach these to zippers or shoelaces.

Gold Crescent Moon • A small, glossy, gold-plated moon charm matched with sterling silver components.  Two-tone sparkly adornment for any age.  Great for layering or wear alone!

Busy, busy summer...

This summer has been wonderful!  I joined a Moms group and got to meet lots of new people and introduce my oldest to playmates.  Together we found lots of new things to do around town and have been keeping pretty busy!  I am actually sad to see this summer go away but I am looking forward to all the upcoming holidays!  Yay!

Along with all the new places and things to explore, my sales have really taken off since my 100th sale!  I'm so excited and feel so blessed that people are paying more attention to my items.  I've actually made bridal party jewelry for 3 brides so far and had several inquiries.  Luckily my customers are very understanding that my shop is just me, myself, and I & that I'm also a mommy and homemaker so I don't pump out jewelry like a machine. :)

I'v posted lots of new items and one thing that is quickly becoming one of my best sellers is my silver infinity bracelet.  I love the look and apparently most of you do to!

Bezel Set Labradorite Bracelet • A natural, bezel set labradorite stone with loads of blue, green, grey flash is secured to strands on delicate (yet STRONG) sterling silver chains!  The stone is faceted on both sides.

Bezel Set Rose Quartz Bracelet • A darling cushion cut, bezel set Rose Quartz stone!  A light, ballet pink on shimmery sterling silver.  The stones are faceted on both sides so they look amazing which ever way they flip!

Silver Infinity Bracelet • A wonderful way to promise eternal love and/or friendship!  A shiny, sterling silver, figure 8 symbol is flanked on one side by your choice of gemstone (pearl is shown).

Skinny Moonstone Bracelet • Tiny, natural, faceted moonstone roundelles flash on a single, shimmery strand of sterling silver chain!  June birthstone.

Life...

I know I haven't posted anything in a long while but some times Life just gets in the way...you know?  For me that meant jewelry orders to fulfill, my family coming to visit for a month in celebration of the birth of my newest little bundle of joy, and recovering from the birth while catching up on orders on very little sleep. :)  Yeah, life got hectic there a bit.

I was surprised and so very pleased to find my "Something Blue" wedding bouquet charms being my best sellers.  I am honored that so many brides will be carrying something I created down the aisle with them.  I wish each and every one best wishes and hopes of a happy marriage.

Towards the end of April, I had to go on maternity leave and closed down my shop for two weeks.  On April 26th, I gave birth to my little precious, Caiden.  He was born at 12:23pm at 8lbs. 11oz. and 19in. :)  Since then, I've been juggling a new baby, an energetic toddler and all my incoming orders.  The first week after my parents left and hubby had to go back to work was rough, but now I've gotten into the groove of things and am loving my life.

So here are a bunch of new items I've worked on and I'm excited to share with you all:

Aqua Chalcedony Earrings • Wire wrapped Aqua Peruvian Chalcedony drops in sterling silver.  These frosty, Tiffany Blue dangles are timeless.  Simple, minimalistic and elegant every day.

Three Silver Orchids & Pearl Lariat • Three silver-plated, cascading Orchids are wire wrapped to freshwater pearls and sterling silver.  Clasps with a sterling silver lobster clasp flanked by small Swarovski pearls for an elegant and secure finish.

Three Silver Orchid & Pearl Bracelet • Three gorgeous silver-plated Orchids are flanked on both sides by freshwater rice pearls.  These are wire wrapped to double strands of thin but strong sterling silver cable chains.

Love Birds Pearl Choker • Bridal necklace is created from luminous freshwater nugget pearls & crystal rondelles.  It fastens in the front with sterling silver kissing birds from which hang another nugget pearl and a romantic Karen Hill Tribe silver rose. 

Rose Pearl Earrings • Lovely freshwater nugget pearls and classy Karen Hill Tribe silver roses make up these lovely dangles.  Each nugget pearl is unique in its shape and each rose is hand made so no two are exactly a like.  Match it with my Love Birds Pearl Choker for a whimsical, bridal look.

Gold Orchid Pearl Earrings • Someone once mentioned that they wished I had more dangly pearl earrings in my inventory, so here's a pair! Gold plated orchids from which dangle genuine freshwater round pearls. All other components are 14k gold filled.  Silver version is in the works!

Silver Swirl Pearl Earrings • Elegant silver plated swirls from which dangle freshwater, AAA grade, coin pearls. All other components are sterling silver. Gold version will soon become available!

Tahitian Pearl & Abalone Earrings • These are oldies but goodies!  Swarovski crystal Tahitian pearls top a genuine abalone shell coin bead. Due to the nature of the abalone shell, each pair of earrings will have a different pattern!

Sparklies by Julie is now on Pinterest!

Of course, if you've been living under a rock..or don't use social media very often, you've probably never hear of Pinterest.com, the newest social media network to take the world by storm.  It's a site that allows you to go through the web and "pin" all the things that interest you: recipes, art, blogs, jewelry...etc.  You then sort these items onto boards and share them with everyone.  It's like a giant scrapbook of your favorite things online.  Pinterest is getting really popular but so far only in the beta-testing stage.  The only way to join is by invite-only.  I was lucky enough to get an invite. :)  You can now follow me as I pin away at: www.pinterest.com/sparkliebyjulie.  Yes, it is missing an "s,"  I was limited to a 15 character username. Lol!

So if you're interested in joining the Pinterest community, let me know and I'll send an invite your way.  Pinterest is also on facebook but I have heard that if you request an invite through them that you get put on a waiting list.  I'm not sure how quickly you will receive your invite if I invite you myself, but it might be a faster option.

Another new thing I've added is that you can now Pin any photo on my blog!  I've added a "PinIt" button on the bottom of every blog I post.  So if you see something you like and would like to share it (and please do!), just click the "PinIt" button and you'll get your choice of photos on the blog to pick from.
